A Bronx community staple has officially closed its doors.
Miles Coffee Bar in Throggs Neck had its final day of business on Saturday after five years of serving residents.
The establishment, which opened in 2017 by owner Mario D’Agostino, had served local coffee lovers. D’Agostino had also opened Muscle Maker Grill next to the coffee shop before unfortunately passing away from cancer in 2020.
D’Agostino’s widow, Nicole Angelico, told News 12 they tried to keep his vision alive for as long as they could even while mourning her husband’s loss. Ultimately, they decided to close shop.
Closing the shop was not an easy decision, but Angelico says the community really came out these last few days to show their support and score their favorite treats for the last time.
