They owners of a Bay Ridge bar have organized a benefit for the families of the two NYPD slain by a gunman in December.
Rafael Ramos and Wenjian Liu were ambushed in their car in Bedford-Stuyvesant by a shooter who later killed himself on a nearby subway platform.
Other local restaurants joined in the effort, donating gift certificates to a fundraising raffle, as did other New Yorkers offering items like tickets to Broadway shows.
"It's just devastating," says No Quarter owner Gail Dermody. "It is important for people to come together in times like this."
The $10 entry fee includes a free drink and goes directly to the Tunnel to Towers Foundation, which already raised money to pay for the mortgages on both officers homes.
