Bensonhurst commuters are asking the MTA to give them better transportation options while the Manhattan-bound N train platforms are closed at nine stations for renovations.

Only two of those stations have temporary platforms.

Commuters currently have the option of "backriding," which means riding a southbound train to a station where they can catch a northbound train in Coney Island, which heads back toward Manhattan.

They asked the MTA to come up with a better plan for the 14-month closure during a rally at the Kings Highway station Thursday.

The MTA president did respond to some of their concerns and said, "Shuttle buses are usually provided only when a station is fully closed and they do not have those resources to do that here." As for temporary platforms, he says, "Stations are not equipped for something like that" and that "most commuters in the area understand these issues."
