Residents and business owners in Bensonhurst are fighting back against graffiti on neighborhood buildings. Volunteers with Graffiti Free NYC were out on 18th Avenue today, helping local stores clean up spray paint. They urge anyone who finds graffiti to call 311 to have it removed without a fee. Some merchants say they usually spend thousands of dollars painting over the graffiti, which is why they say the no-cost program is welcomed with open arms.
