A Bergen County synagogue is celebrating its 150th anniversary during Rosh Hashanah.
The congregation at Adas Emuno synagogue in Leonia are honoring this special holiday.
"It has joyful elements, but it has serious elements,” said Rabbi Barry Schwartz. “The message is you need to examine your deeds and make sure that you get off on the right foot in the New Year,” he added.
Congregants last night threw pebbles into the lake at Overpeck Park, an act which symbolizes cleansing sins from the past year and starting anew.
