Artist Dimitar Lukanov's work is exhibited around the world.
One of his best known pieces, "History of Time," can be seen at the John F. Kennedy International Airport.
He says his massive public sculptures usually begin as small-scale pieces in Brooklyn.
Lukanov describes his hometown as a "hidden intellectual cave," but says the main reason he remains here is because of the locals.
"The thing that makes New York, and most specifically Brooklyn, the most exciting place on Earth is the people of Brooklyn," he says.
