Students at a Park Slope middle school are seeing designs drawn up in class become real school supplies thanks to a program by Staples.
M.S. 88 was one of two schools nationwide selected for the program.
Student Chyanne Myles helped design a prototype double-decker desk that received a professional makeover and is now in production.
In addition, Staples has donated $50,000 to the school.
Principal Ailene Mitchell says the money will go toward more classes designed to give students hands-on work.
Staples will sell the products online and in brick-and-mortar stores throughout the country.
New schools are already being chosen for the next round of the program.
