Police say a bicyclist is dead and four others are recovering in the hospital following a crash near the Apollo Theater Thursday night in Harlem.

A red Hyundai Tucson fatally struck the cyclist, identified by sources as Darly Zacharias, of the Bronx, before continuing on a path of destruction down West 125th Street.

Authorities say the Hyundai, driven by a 49-year-old man, hit a second cyclist, a 33-year-old man, before colliding with a Toyota Rav4 and crashing into three parked cars: a Lexus with two people inside, a police cruiser and a tractor-trailer.

EMS took 28-year-old Zacarias to Mt. Sinai-Morningside, where he died.

Authorities say the second bicyclist was left fighting for his life at NYC Health+Hospitals/Harlem, while the driver of the Rav4 and the occupants of the Lexus are expected to be OK.

Police took the 49-year-old driver into custody. He has not been formally charged as of Friday night.
