A bill expected to be introduced in the state Assembly will require, if passed, all police officers to undergo more frequent psychological evaluations.
Currently, many officers only have an evaluation when they first join the force. The bill would require officers to undergo an evaluation every three years.
The bill's sponsor, state Assemblyman Eric Stephenson (D-79th District), says he is introducing the bill in honor of alleged police brutality victims Ramarley Graham and Jateik Reed.
