The Flatlands Volunteer Ambulance Corps has been serving the community for nearly 40 years, and has recently been awarded a new truck. The corps, which has 125 members and handles more than 4,000 calls each year, now owns an ambulance with the help of Assemblywoman Helene Weinstein (D-District 41). The truck was presented in a ceremony yesterday. Anyone interested in volunteering with the corps can contact them at 718-338-0434.
