A Brooklyn family has filed a wrongful death lawsuit against the city after the accidental death of their son by the hands of a police officer.The attorneys for the Crawford family announced the lawsuit Sunday on the steps of City Hall. The family is seeking $50 million in damages. Police admit Stefan Crawford was accidentally shot after fleeing from police in Bedford-Stuyvesant. The family is also charging the officers with assault and battery.A civilian witness claims they saw the suspect put the officer in a headlock in an attempt to get the officer?s gun, causing it to discharge. Police say the incident was not in violation of department guidelines.
