Many people are struggling to find jobs these days, especially those living with disabilities, but one local nonprofit group is trying to change that.
The Evelyn Douglin Center for Serving People in Need is organizing events and programs to teach people with disabilities the skills needed to find employment.
One of the events the center hosts is a spelling bee in Sunset Park, which is aimed at expanding its clients' vocabularies to help them in job interviews.
Staffers at the center also hold workshops on resume writing and help people with disabilities acquire socialization skills, like shaking hands.
In addition to the Sunset Park location, the center runs a program in Mill Basin. Evelyn Douglin Center for Serving People In Need
