Police say they arrested six people, including one man from Brooklyn, in a drug smuggling ring operating out of John F. Kennedy International Airport.
Police say the ring, run by Jorge Guerrero, handled drugs smuggled in from Ecuador disguised as things like candy bars and empanadas in cargo aircraft.
Police also arrested 28-year-old Noe Fernandez, of Brooklyn. They say during a search of his apartment they discovered money transfer receipts to the Ecuadorian supplier as well as a gun.
