Brooklyn students are coming up with ideas for cleaner and greener living by designing and building cities of the future.
A total of 54 local middle school students have created models of eco-friendly neighborhoods. They came up with the designs and equipped the cities to save energy with things like smart cars, hydroelectric generators and solar tiles.
The program is run by NYU School of Engineering students. The goal is to think outside of the box and come up with ways to improve transportation, communication and urban infrastructure while being energy efficient.
The program is now in its third year. The plan is to reach out to as many students as possibly and influence them to live a greener life.
