Parents in Brownsville say they're fed up with their children being left to fend for themselves while crossing the street on the way to school.
According to P.S./I.S. 41 parents, they've complained about missing crossing guards to school administrators, the 73rd Precinct, which covers the area, and even Mayor Michael Bloomberg's Office. They say all of their pleas for help have gone unanswered nearly three months after classes started.
Two officers did show up last Tuesday afternoon after News 12 Brooklyn first covered the story, but parents say they only stayed through the afternoon and no one has been back since.
