Community leaders are concerned that the relocation of the Macy's Fireworks Spectacular to the Hudson River will leave Brooklyn skies dark.
For years, local residents enjoyed a front-row seat during the annual Fourth of July display. This year, the show is being moved to the West Side to celebrate Henry Hudson and the 400th anniversary of his voyage down the river that bears his name today.
Some local residents say the change will hinder views along the Brooklyn waterfront. However, Macy's has reassured the public that the fireworks will be high enough for everyone to enjoy.
