A Brooklyn man charged with the attempted murder of a police officer in a Bed-Stuy hair salon was sentenced earlier today. Winston Cox was handed a 20-year prison term at the Brooklyn Supreme Court after firing at NYPD officer Ferris Jones last October. Cox was trying to rob Sabine's Hair Salon, where Jones was a customer. A jury found him guilty in December. Nicole Dickson, who was also in the salon the day of the shooting, said in a court statement that she forgives Cox, but that her life will never be the same.No one was struck in the shooting, except for Cox, who was hit in the hand.
