Several senior citizens across the borough are focusing on staying in shape as the calendar rolls to 2012, with some even receiving letters from the White House. For the past eight weeks, members of the group say they've been eating healthy and exercising for at least 15 minutes every morning. They say they were influenced by first lady Michelle Obama's "Let's Move!" campaign aimed at cutting down childhood obesity. Many were also the recipients of presidential certificates honoring their participation, including 96-year-old Monty Garcia. "I feel much better after I do the exercises," Garcia says. The classes officially ended last week, but organizers say they are already working on a new program that may include Zumba moves.
