Students from Maxwell High School were among the talent behind the designs showcased at Brooklyn's Fashion Weekend.
Yamir Adames, Sallilinette Lajara and Jenisis Washington, three of the creators of the student line, say the experience of working a fashion show was hectic and exciting.
"It's a really great feeling to see all your hard work going down the runway and people applauding," Adames says.
Mentors, like Joan Vaccianna, who was the curator of the runway show, says Fashion Weekend allowed the students to see the real life aspect of making fashion designing a career. Vaccianna believes the students benefited from participating in the business side of fashion.
