The country's largest federally subsidized housing complex is going up for sale. Brooklyn's Spring Creek Towers, originally known as Starrett City, has about 5,900 apartments in 46 towers. Many of the residents at the complex receive some type of federal aid to help them pay rent. The owners of the complex have insisted the sale will have no effect on most of the tenants. The complex also has shopping centers and a power plant. Spring Creek Towers is expected to go on the auction block in January.
