The Board of Elections says early voter turnout is “very” low as two special elections are underway in the Bronx.
The elections are happening in City Council districts 11 and 15.
The City Council seat in District 15 is vacant since Ritchie Torres is now in Congress. This district covers Fordham, Mount Hope, Belmont, East Tremont, Allerton and Olinville.
District 11’s seat is vacant after Andrew Cohen accepted a judgeship. This district covers Kingsbridge, Riverdale, Norwood, Wakefield and Woodlawn.
Only five people were seen casting their ballot at Ghana United Methodist Church Thursday.
Since early voting started Saturday, they say they’ve had about 65 voters and an average of 10 voters per day.
Residents can vote early every day until Sunday and then on Election Day, which is on Tuesday.
