Westchester County police say they recovered a body from the Hudson River near the location where they believe a Brooklyn man drowned on Tuesday.
Authorities have not yet identified the body as 47-year-old Alex Desouza but say it fits his description.
Police say the body was discovered by a fisherman about half a mile off the shore on Friday.
Desouza was on a fishing trip when he decided to take a dip in the river and likely drowned.
