Police say a body was pulled from the Gowanus Canal's icy waters Thursday.

Officers observed an unconscious man floating in the water at 29 Gowanus Canal just before 2:45 p.m.

Authorities say NYPD Harbor Units responded and removed the man from the water. EMS pronounced him dead at the scene.
