Police and FDNY officials confirm a body was discovered in the waters early Saturday afternoon near the Red Hook Pier on Van Brunt Street.

Witnesses described the body as “looking like a skeleton” and “small in stature” on the rocks near the pier.

The Office of the Medical Examiner was en route to the scene to determine a cause of death.
