People across the borough were in celebration mode for the 115th annual Brooklyn Day.
This year's event was held at Canarsie Park, where families enjoyed outdoor fun with a host of activities. The Brooklyn Royal Knights Marching Band, gymnasts, skateboarders and Sparky from the New York Islanders were just a few of the attractions this year.
Students who had the day off were able to spend time with their families and take part in the fun. Parents say it was a great day to get the kids off the couch and away from cellphones.
The borough president loves Brooklyn Day so much that he wants to make it an entire week next year.
