One of the busiest commuter bridges in Brooklyn will undergo rehabilitation in the hopes of reviving the aging structure. The Kosciuszko Bridge is one of the biggest North to South connecting arteries in Brooklyn. For nearly 70 years it has serviced as the main connection between Brooklyn and Queens. In that time it has carried thousands of cars and trucks over Newtown Creek. The New York State Department of Transportation and many commuters say the bridge is showing its age. DOT is considering 26 different plans to rehabilitate the span. DOT will be accepting written comments on the various proposals until May 25. Construction is set to begin in 2011.
