Mayor Michael Bloomberg has asked all city agencies to ?trim the fat? by 2.5 percent, a task that will require Borough President Marty Markowitz to cut jobs.
?I don?t want anyone to be hurt, especially as we approach the holidays,? said Markowitz. ?I?m required to do what is fiscally prudent. I have no choice, I have to.?
Markowitz says he will continue to reach out for public and private funding to keep programs up and running.
