There are new allegations of absentee ballot fraud just one day before a recount is scheduled in the 127th House District race.
Bridgeport City Council Member Maria Pereira announced she has filed a complaint with the state Elections Enforcement Commission against the campaign of Marcus Brown, who also sits on the City Council.
Brown edged out the incumbent -- longtime state Rep. Jack Hennessy -- by just four votes in last week's primary, automatically triggering the recount.
Pereira says she personally witnessed a paid Brown campaign worker, who's also a city employee, engage in absentee ballot voter fraud.
"These are major elections violations," said Pereira. "I've already filed this complaint electronically with the state Elections Enforcement Commission and right after this interview, I'm going down to the FBI office on Lafayette Boulevard to hand them their copy of this complaint."
News 12 reached out to Brown's office but has not heard back.
The recount is scheduled for 10 a.m. Tuesday.
