A member of the Bridgeport City Council says her district is not being aided by millions in funding to help with flooding.

Maria Pereira says that Mayor Joe Ganim, while campaigning in 2015, met with constituents in the Thomas Hooker neighborhood and promised to fix flooding issues.

"We have $42 million coming to the city to help with flooding issues, all of it is invested in the North End with not $1 in this district. These people are entitled to live in a neighborhood where they don't experience significant damage of their belongings, their basements, their garages," says Pereira.

City officials say they will carefully review the funding parameters to see if any of the dollars can be used outside of the North End.
