Rain chances for the rest of the week in The Bronx

After a period without significant rain chances, our luck turns on Tuesday.

Rain returns to the forecast for the later parts of the day and continues for much of the next week.

While it will not be all day long rain for the next seven days, we have the opportunity to see rain in various amounts through the rest of the work week and even into the weekend.

A system moves through Tuesday afternoon/evening, bringing with it some rain chances into early Wednesday. It will briefly dry out, following by late evening rain moving through Wednesday and into Thursday.

Expect Thursday to be the soggiest of the work week, with showers and potentially some thunderstorms throughout the day.

Temperatures bounce around this week! Despite Tuesday being the first full day of fall, we will be seeing the return of summerlike temperatures in the high 70s and low 80s.

This will continue into Wednesday. The front bringing the heaviest rain will move through Thursday and will be accompanied by a dip in temperatures, back to the lower 70s.

We will return to near seasonable or even slightly above average for the remainder of the work week and into the weekend.

We are keeping a close eye on the Atlantic as we are still in the dregs of hurricane season. Hurricane Gabrielle strengthened to a major hurricane and exploded into a Category 4 Hurricane Monday afternoon but looks to stay away from our area.

We have the potential to be impacted only indirectly, through some swells and high rip currents. We are continuing to monitor two other areas of disturbance in the Atlantic as well and will update you every step of the way.
