The Bronx was brimming with excitement as opening day returned to Yankee Stadium, and one local artist took the extra step to contribute to the glee.
Bronx artist Andre Trenier, who has been painting murals since 2003, cooked up a new Yankees mural near the stadium to welcome fans back.
Trenier has become a staple around Yankee Stadium, with over a dozen spray-painted murals that include legends Joe DiMaggio and Jackie Robinson.
But this year, he was looking for something more personal.
"Hopefully the fans will enjoy it, and they'll come and support these businesses," Trenier says. "I know these businesses are looking forward to the season getting started, so yeah man, I know everybody is looking forward to it.
Trenier's artwork can be found throughout the 161st Street and River Avenue area near Yankee Stadium.
