Bronx Borough President Vanessa L. Gibson and the NYPD held a community baby shower on Saturday at the Northeast Bronx YMCA.

Expecting mothers and families received essential baby items such as playpens, cribs and bassinets.

The baby shower aimed to bring resources to empowering women so they can make informed decisions about their health, understand their bodies and navigate the health care system.

The NYPD Community Affairs Bureau will host community baby showers in all boroughs.
