News 12 is sharing the remarkable recovery of a little Bronx girl who was released from a Westchester hospital Friday.
Catherine Arias is being called a warrior and a miracle after being struck in the face by a stray bullet in the Bronx in January.
Since then, the now-1-year-old, has undergone multiple surgeries and rehabilitation.
"Our journey has been long, but finally this is the light at the end of the tunnel," said her mother, Miraida Gomez.
After four months at Blythedale Children's Hospital, Catherine returned home on Friday.
Local police departments cheered Catherine and her family as she walked out of the hospital.
"We're eager to start this new part, a new chapter in our life," says Gomez.
When asked what the parents have to say to the person responsible, her father Gregory Arias replied, "Your time is coming brother…that's it. Tu tiempo va llegar."
There is still a $10,000 reward for the suspect's arrest.
"There's no reason why, when this person is caught, that he should be allotted anything … any liberties to go home the next day, because I haven't been home with my family in four months," says Arias.
Although Catherine has made a stunning recovery, she still has to make regular visits as an outpatient to the hospital to continue her full recovery.
