When the pandemic shut down shows and comedy clubs, a Bronx comedian took matters into his own hands.
Aldo Malaspina, a first-generation American, says he wanted to continue to make his parents laugh during the difficult time of the pandemic.
He got creative by taping a comedy special called "Live in the Garden" at a friend's house in New Jersey.
"We live in a DIY time, and no one is knocking on my door, no one is beating my door to give me any opportunity, so I am just making them as I go," Aldo says.
He says precautions were taken and the crowd was small, his parents being the few present.
"They made it to the audience because that is the closest thing to a wedding that they are going to get to," Aldo says.
You can tune into the half hour special starting Jan. 29 for $5 on his website.
