Feb. 29 only comes around once every four years, and some Bronx residents made the most of it this Leap Year.
Rachel and Edwin Gomez spent part of their day at Bronx Supreme Court to exchange nuptials. The 10-year couple tried to tie the knot Thursday, but was told that they needed to come back on Friday.
Despite the unusual wedding date, Rachel won't let her new husband get away with remembering their anniversary every four years.
"It's not happening," she said, as the pair both laughed.
Other notable Leap Day events included the births of two babies at Lincoln Hospital.
Leap years are 366 days long and are needed to balance out the calendar every four times the earth revolves around the sun.
