Bronx District Attorney Darcel Clark announced on Thursday that 12 alleged gang members have been indicted for multiple shootings and violent robberies across the borough.
The 12 indicted members – including two who are as young as 16 years old – are allegedly members of the “5zzly” crew of the Blood Hound Brims. They have been indicted for a combined 23 violent incidents throughout the Bronx, including the fatal shooting of an innocent bystander.
The incidents occurred from Feb. 2021 to June of this year, according to prosecutors. They say the 110-count indictment includes charges of murder, attempted murder, gang assault, and robbery.
Clark says that many of the shootings that are charged were allegedly carried out against rival gang members. Their victims include Ariel Santos, a man who was standing near his home in May of 2021 when he was fatally struck by a stray bullet from a car.
The takedown efforts were conducted by the NYPD Gun Violence Suppression Division and other agencies.
