407ds agoJavier Castillo Maradiaga has won his release from ICE detention and a stay of deportation from a U.S. district court judge, according to a press release from UnLocal Wednesday.
Maradiaga was taken into custody by ICE, allegedly for jaywalking in December 2019.
Maradiaga was born in Honduras but came to the U.S. at 7 years old. He was previously protected under the Dream Act, but his family says he didn't renew his DACA status in 2019 out of fear of sharing personal information.
