3ds agoTwo arrests have been made in the death of an 8-year-old boy in June 2021.
Police arrested Michael Ransom along with Sharay Barney, the mother of the child. Both have been charged with murder.
Police say 8-year-old Joseph Barney died after he was found unresponsive and taken to the hospital by his mother on June 1. The child didn't have any signs of trauma, but officials say he was underweight leading police to believe that he was starved to death.
Police say Ransom was the mother's boyfriend at the time. The two are also being charged with manslaughter and aggravated manslaughter.
