When Veronica Thaim came home late at night on May 6 and noticed her son wasn’t home, she said she knew something was wrong. She says when detectives showed up at her door, her worst fears became reality.
"I lost it. I mean that's a feeling that nobody would ever want to experience,” said Thaim.
On May 6, close to midnight, Tony Boyd was shot in the chest and back by an unknown assailant at the Gouverneur Playground on Washington Avenue.
He was taken to Bronx Lebanon Hospital and was pronounced dead. The chilling incident was caught on surveillance and later released by the police.
Police say no arrests have been made at this time.
Veronica Thaim and her 12-year-old daughter Tatiana both wear necklaces to remember Tony.
