Bronx native Devin Campbell says he's excited to hit the stage once again in "MJ: The Musical"- a tribute to Michael Jackson.
Campbell, who plays Little Marlon, says that the in-person audition for the role was his first in nearly two years since the pandemic. With big shoes to fill, he says the audience is guaranteed to have a good time.
"MJ: The Musical" is taking the audience back to 1992 as preparations for the "Dangerous" tour leads to an unexpected flash to past.
The musical depicts the life and music of the King of Pop. "I'm very grateful for all that I've done," Campbell says.
Before booking the musical at just the age of 7, he took centerstage on Broadway's "Kinky Boots" and starred on ABC's "Single Parents" all while still focusing on his education.
"I just try to keep up my grades because my mom says school's first. You can't do stuff and not have your education," Campbell says.
He says another one of his goals is to be on the big screen.
"Movies would be great, a really great thing to just slap on the resume. I would love to do that," Campbell says.
With more projects on the horizon and always looking forward to the next adventure. Devin says he is simply enjoying the moment.
