Local vendors are back in Fordham Plaza for the highly anticipated return of the Bronx Night Market.
Residents from all over the city looking to get out and enjoy Saturday's weather came out to the market. Masks and reservations were required as well as a temperature checks before entering the market.
Starting in April instead of May this year the market opened a little earlier than usual to help out local businesses.
"I feel empowered that everyone's coming together as a team, it's beautiful," said Antoinett Constantine of Nettie's Knowledge.
"COVID kinda had us all locked down, and we weren't able to do the thing that we love, which is to get to share our products and our craft with people in New York," said Tracey Solomon of Flatbush Granola.
With at least 20 vendors participating in each market, booths will be socially distanced throughout the plaza and sanitization stations will be available.
As the weather starts to improve, the market will partner with the New York Botanical Garden, Summerstage, New York Road Runners, and CUNY to create seasonal pop-up events.
The Bronx Night Market will be open to customers every Saturday until Nov. 13 from 12 p.m. to 7 p.m. There will be spaces like available to residents for them sit and enjoy their food without masks.
