The resident won $25,500 with the ticket he purchased at Shree Nanshardama Convenience in Co-op City.
The shop has a special booth where people can purchase lottery tickets. The owners say that there is always a steady stream of customers coming to the booth to try their luck at lottery games.
Many people who live in the areas tell News 12 that they often come to the shop to purchase lottery tickets and that they are optimistic that they will be the next big winner.
