Students from P.S 304, P.S. 101 and P.S 10 planted 800 flags in P.S. 304's Liberty Garden to honor the men and women who protect the U.S.
It was the fourth year the event took place.
"We got the children together to plant the small flags out here," said Joseph Nobile, principal of P.S. 304. "We got volunteers to make the signs - staff members and their families contributed that. We hang some flags that were donated to us. This was just a swelling - we started out with nothing."
The students also plant flags on Flag Day and Memorial Day.
