Two talented Bronx teenagers stepped up and lent a hand to the NYPD this week.
Kanisha Ffriend got to walk in Commissioner Ray Kelly's shoes after winning the annual "Police Commissioner for a Day" essay contest, which asks students about how they would improve the city.
Ruth Tirado also got high marks in the competition and assumed the role of commanding officer of patrol for the borough.
