Residents at 2255 Grand Concourse say they’ve been living in hazardous conditions for weeks.

They tell News 12 the elevator is out of service and their apartments have rats.

Evangelista Santana, 92, lives on the fifth floor.

She says the elevator’s outage has left her unable to leave her apartment.

To make matters worse, she says rats have chewed through the wires of her stove, leaving it unusable.

Parkash Management, the building’s landlord, says it is working on permits for the elevator repair and have implemented anti-rodent efforts, but tenants remain frustrated with the lack of progress.
