Wednesday's Bronx Zoo vaccination site saw a great turnout, so health officials are extending the pop-up site through mid-January.
Those who receive the vaccination at the zoo can get two tickets to see the animals in the park.
The event was initially a one-day pop-up but the state decided to add on more days, giving New Yorkers even more opportunities to get their vaccine. With cases on the rise over the last few weeks, officials have been saying the best defense is getting the vaccine and the booster.
Hundreds got in line Wednesday at the Bronx Zoo, helping the city in stopping the spread. The site is a partnership between the New York State Department of Health and the governor along with SOMOS.
The pop-up is located in the Southern Boulevard parking lot and anyone 5 years old and older can get the Pfizer or Moderna shot there. The zoo is offering the booster shot as well.
