Halloween weekend. So for those of you at home with questions on how you can enjoy this season. Don't worry, we got you covered. So we always got you covered. Our news wife Ellie Mario has an exclusive look inside of all things. Spooky and fun. Are you? Where are you? She's inside the Bronx Zoo Elliot. It's, it's kind of dark and spooky right now. I'm scared. Where are you? Are you gonna scare us? She said I am. Well, now we're not gonna be scared. Ellie screaming guys. It is pitch black right now. We are inside of the Bronx Zoo. There's no one here but us and let me tell you, I am so excited for Halloween weekend and just to celebrate. I've got a special guest. Get it. I'm really corny you guys, but I'm gonna be with Rachel here. We're going to talk things all boo at the zoo. So, Rachel, how are you doing this morning? Thank you for joining us. Good morning. Thanks for having us here. So I think my first question is just, what do you guys mostly look forward to for Halloween weekend or just Halloween in general? Well, I mean, it's just magical here. And honestly, I just love watching the kids in their costumes. It's so much fun. I mean, parents get into it and we get to see some really cool ideas. So we're at boo at the zoo right now and guys take a look behind us because this is absolutely incredible. Look at those pumpkin carvings there. So for viewers at home who don't really know what to expect? What can you tell them about Boo at the zoo? So, Boo at the zoo time tradition here at the Bronx Zoo. Um It's got lots of family friendly activities from pumpkin carving as you see behind us to a bunch of other things. And guys guess what? That's not all that you guys can enjoy here at the Bronx Zoo this weekend, Halloween weekend. So stay with us. We're gonna give you all that info of all things, spooky and fun. Mario is giving us an exclusive look at Boo at the zoo before things get started tonight. Ellie. How scary is it guys? It's pretty scary. I don't know if you could take a little peek behind me. We gonna get scared. I'm just gonna give you a little sneak peek. No, I promise I'm not going to scare you. Take a look at this, this sign here. It says animals, see, I didn't make any promises. Rachel scared you guys. So, so where are we right now? This is really, really, really cool. Yeah, we are in our New Bones tell a story exhibit which is super cool and new to us. Um It features several of animals that you can actually see in their live form here at the Bronx Zoo, but these are their skeletal form and it teaches you a lot about how they mate, what they eat, where they come from. Um So bones do tell a story of uh of animals. And so this is a unique exhibit for us and we're hoping people come and explore and learn and you know what guys, I actually brought my friend Billy here really unintentionally, but like it fits the scene right now and I named him after one of my favorite movies, Hocus Pocus. Uh So we're gonna take a look at some of the bones. Is that cool? Let's take a look. I did not know you guys take a look at this. This is an Anna K guys. This is absolutely insane. So, Rachel, what are some of like the reaction you see when kids walk in here? I think the same that you just had kind of kind of in shock. Um They want to know if they're real, they are all real skeletons. Um So that's pretty cool. My fascination was the bison over there, uh looking at how small its tail is and when you see it in that form, it's kind of shocking. Uh just because they're so large and, and hairy. Um But the giraffe, you know, so it's, it's been a lot of fun and I think people are learning a lot. I love that. And so for families that are looking to come on by and have some fun. When can they come on in? So, the exhibit, uh runs from 11 to 4 this Saturday and Sunday. It's our last weekend of Boo at the zoo. Um So we, you know, hope that they combine, there's so many other activities too this weekend for them to enjoy. Awesome. We've got you covered as always our new songs, Ellie Mario has an exclusive look inside of all the things. Spooky and fun. Well, this is real spooky at the Bronx Zoo Ellie. Is that a graveyard girl? Yes, it is a graveyard. It is called The Girl. It's called the extinct Species Graveyard. And doesn't it remind you about that scene in Hocus Pocus where Max is riding his bike and he bumps into those cool dudes and they're like, hey, what you got for us, Hollywood and he has to give them their sneakers. But anyway, um I think I feel like we're missing someone. Where's Rachel? Oh, hey, girl, you almost, you almost scared me there. All right. So where exactly are we again? And there, tell me a little bit about what people can expect. Sure. So this is our extinct graveyard. Um and it actually represents animals that are no longer with us, uh mostly due to human causes. And so while it seems really sad, it's also a great hopeful story because we make a difference. Um And so even coming to the zoo for boo at the zoo is an act of conservation. So what do we have planned this weekend? We have so much more than what we've already discussed. We've got costume parades, we have magic and mind reading. We have storytelling, we have crafts, we have a pumpkin trail and we have our own wildlife theater doing special shows over at our Asia Plaza section of the zoo. Well, you guys heard it here and look you guys, no matter what you do, you're going to have fun because you're at the zoo. So stay with us here on 12. We've got everything you need to know. Bill. Thank you. One could say one of the best traditions of Halloween is trick or treating. I'd say that's certain, but in the city it's not always easy or safe to go door to door. And for the second year in a row, New York City's Department of Transportation is throwing the trick or streets event. The news twelve's Julia Joseph was at the kickoff this morning in Washington Heights to hear more about Tuesday's upcoming plans. The close quarters of New York City is sometimes haunting, but the Department of Transportation is making it a priority this Halloween to re imagine the use of public space. Last year. We said, what about if we dedicate 100 blocks that we can make it safe for those parents to take their Children and do the trick. And this year they are going even bigger with over 100 locations across all five boroughs, 50 of which in Brooklyn and the Bronx families have a safe place to trick or treat and get in the holiday spirit starting Tuesday at 11 a.m. There will be over 100 and 90 live events including the giveaway of 1500 pumpkins and over £1000 of candy. All that great candy that's going out. Um Is there an age limit here? No age limit. Just plaza checked out in Spooky Decor. The designated car free areas allow kids to go from booth to booth collecting candy. This huge big space is going to be a available for the entire family. It's going to be a safe place to be. Susanna Osario owns two businesses across from Kisa Plaza and tells me she's been waiting for round two of Tricker Street since last year. This is the way that I see it. Like you get out of knocking door. You don't know who's gonna open the door. And like if you come into Quisqueya Plaza, here's what you're gonna find. Music, entertainment. NYPD is together with us with the NYPD presence. City officials say this is a safer alternative in the city than going from door to door. If you plan on coming down Osario wants to make sure you're in costume and you have your costume here. Of course, it's a surprise for that day. All right, don't let this guy scare you away.
