Brooklyn native and actor Steve Buscemi was sent to the hospital after he was punched in the face last week in New York City.

The Associated Press confirmed details from police who say it happened in the Kips Bay section of Manhattan.

His publicist said on Sunday that he is doing OK after he suffered bruising and bleeding on his eye.

NYPD detectives released images of a man who they say is connected to the assault.

The man was last seen wearing a blue T-shirt, black pants, white sneakers and was carrying a backpack.

Police are asking anyone with information on the man's whereabouts to give them a call.
