Locals are getting away from the hustle and bustle of the city taking in the nature and scenery at the Brooklyn Botanic Garden.
Sitting on 52 acres of land in the heart of Brooklyn is a collection of gardens and landscapes at the Brooklyn Botanic Garden.
"There's a native flora garden, a rose garden, a rock garden, a children's garden, and on and on and on, so you can walk around and kind of get a sense of many different kinds of gardens and plants," says Kathryn Glass, Chief Public Affairs Officer.
The garden has been connecting people to the world of plants for more than a century.
Its outdoor space is open for visitors to take a stroll through the 25 specialty gardens, like the popular Japanese hill-and-pond garden, one of the oldest of its kind in the country.
Visitor capacity is now capped at 1,500 people, to ensure social distancing measures, along with several other changes to keep visitors safe.
"Other indoor spaces are closed, apart from that it's physical distancing, advanced ticketing, and mask wearing," says Glass.
Free tickets to the garden are available until Sept. 7.
