‘Brooklyn Bound’ app brings the best of the borough to your smartphone

Want to know where the best spots in Brooklyn are? Well, now there's an app for that.

Want to know where the best spots in Brooklyn are? Well, now there's an app for that.
Brooklyn can be hard to navigate, even for locals.
The “Brooklyn Bound” app aims to save people some steps while heading out in the borough.

“Brooklyn Bound breaks down all of the places to go, whether you are a tourist and everything is new, or a local and don't want to go to those tourist spots,” says app co-founder Mark Macias.

The app offers locals recommendations of places to eat, drink, shop and enjoy the city’s nightlife.
Information is curated from Yelp users who have shared their experiences

"This is the first app that's free that talks about everything to do in Brooklyn. I’m sure there are a lot of apps, but none of them break down free places to go, places to go by the different seasons, free things to do, where to meet new people,” says Macias.

Macias, a Bed-Stuy resident, drew from his own personal experiences

"Brooklyn is always changing, so you don't always find cool places and that what started this whole idea of let's put together a free app that breaks down all the places to go in Brooklyn,” says Macias.  

Mark, alongside his co-founder Sarah, had one thing in mind.

"We just brought that free information and put it into one spot for Brooklynites and even people from Manhattan to say come to our borough it’s pretty cool too,” he says.

Mark and Sarah tell News 12 the number of downloads of the Brooklyn Bound app is growing, and they look forward to updating the app for both locals and visitors.
